The Space

In the picturesque and sought after Barrio Alto district of central Lisbon, this second-floor apartment is a stylish, designer home away from home in the heart of the Portuguese capital. As you enter the home, you'll find yourself in the well designed and spacious open-plan living room. In here you can relax, work or socialise in comfort and style, reclining with your feet up on the large sofa, or sitting in one of the designer easy chairs. You can unwind as you watch a movie on the flatscreen TV as you admire the carefully chosen wall art and the beautiful blue-tiled floor. Head through to the kitchen area and you'll find modern appliances, including an electric oven, microwave, and glass-topped electric stove, with which you can easily prepare a delicious meal for the whole family. 

When it comes time to rest at the end of the day, you can head through to any of the home's three twin bedrooms, where you'll find two single beds in each room, fitted with hotel-quality linen and topped with a comfortable mattress. With tiled flooring to keep the rooms cool, and simple, calming decor, these bedrooms are ideal for enjoying a good rest. There are also two large bathrooms in the home with large walk-in rainfall showers, so you and all your fellow guests can enjoy freshening up in the mornings or after a long day of exploring the incredible city of Lisbon!

Access

You have access to the entire condo, which is cleaned professionally with fresh luxury linens and is prepared for each new visitor. 

We'll arrange for a welcome person to meet you at the property to hand over the keys and let you into the home. Our standard check-in time is from 3pm.

This home sits on the second floor of a modern building and can easily be accessed at street level.

Neighbourhood

Known as the bohemian district in the heart of Lisbon’s old town, Barrio Alto transforms dramatically as day turns to night, from picturesque shopping district to a creative, hip neighborhood of trendy bars and restaurants. For the best views in the neighborhood, head to the Miradouro de Santa Catarina, a viewing platform with cafes and bars that is best around sunset. You’ll be able to enjoy views over the city and the river Tejo with a glass of Portuguese wine. You can enjoy a slice of Lisbon’s history by riding the beautifully restored 19th-century yellow funicular railway, the Elevador da Bica, up or down the steep hill in the Bica area.

For a bite to eat, try Bistro 100 Maneiras for a high-quality evening meal where old Yugoslavian dishes are presented alongside traditional Portuguese cuisine. If you want to try some dishes from Asia, you should go to Chiado. Meanwhile, Adega Machado is a small Portuguese restaurant hidden away from the usual tourist trail. The menu is expensive but the addition of brilliant traditional Fado music makes it worth the premium prices. For that perfect evening drinking spot, head to The Old Pharmacy; a bar of small and intimate table arrangements that used to be a working pharmacy. Alternatively, in the Lower Bairro Alto, you can visit the Park Bar where you can enjoy views from the rooftop across the River Tejo as you sip on a drink amongst the decorative plants. Park is situated on the roof of a multi-storey car park and offers great cocktails, delicious burgers and brilliant views in a relaxing and unpretentious atmosphere.

Check-in

Our check-in time is preferred from 3PM onwards, however, we understand that sometimes travel needs to be flexible. After booking, please enquire about an earlier check-in with our team – we will always facilitate bag drops for early arrivals.

Access

  • The home is located on the second floor of the building and can be accessed at street level.
  • City tax and ID: A government-mandated city tax of €2 per person per day (except for children under 12 years), will be charged to you at check-in. Also, your govt ID will be collected at check-in for submission to the authorities as required by local laws. Please note, city tax is only applicable for a maximum of 7 days continuous. We do not accept cash.

Amenities

  • The hair dryer can be found inside the bathroom mirror cabinet.

Noise

  • The house is in a shared building. Please be respectful to the neighbours - no noise after 10PM.

Cancellation Policy

For stays up to 27 nights, the cancellation policy is:

  • 100% refund – If canceled at least 30 days prior to check-in date and within 48 hours of receiving booking confirmation
  • 50% refund – if canceled 7 or more days prior to check-in date
  • 0% refund – if canceled within 7 days of check-in date

For stays over 27 nights the cancellation terms might depend on the specific agreement with the host, on the length of the requested stay, and on city local regulations.
